Whoever sows generously will reap generously

There goes an old saying that behind all physical poverty lies emotional poverty.   GNC is a Christian clinic who seeks to serve the whole person.  Though all of our patients are here seeking medical and dental care, they often receive unexpected emotional and spiritual support along their way.

We commonly hear patients say that they felt nervous and ashamed to apply for care here because they feared being judged for needing help.  This is always followed by an expression of gratitude, often tearful, about how incredibly supported and respected they felt from the moment they walked in the doors until they graduated from needing our care.  One patient recently expressed, “My Medicaid just kicked in but I’m sad because I’ve loved it here.  You guys made me feel so loved and cared for.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“Benton” is an eleven year Hall County resident with five children who span from elementary through high school.  He’s newly employed at a local manufacturing corporation.  His position offers benefits after ninety days of employment.  But, he was experiencing excruciating dental pain after only a few days of starting his new job.  He came to GNC and qualified as a temporary patient and had to have three teeth extracted.  He was so grateful to be relieved of his pain and back to work, that he returned the next day and made a donation to the clinics from his meager first paycheck.  We were reminded that, “Whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:6-7).  When Benton came to GNC, he was frustrated and in pain.  When he left, he was all hugs and smiles, knowing that he has a friend in us.  GNC is not a hand out, it’s a hand up, and our patients leave with dignity and the opportunity to pay forward what God has done for them through us.

Thank you for your part in supporting our clinics.
